National Quail Day

February 11, 2007 by susan

It was on this day in 2006 that the nation's Carbuncle-in-Chief went quail hunting, where his judgment in identifying and shooting down little birds turned out to be as sound as it was in identifying and shooting down al-Qaeda. Appropriate timing for the Pentagon inspector general to rap Cheney's (former) first toady, Doug Feith, for adjusting the CIA's intel to suit the will of his trigger-happy boss. And creepy fun to watch the weaselly Feith make the talk-show rounds on this historic day, saying that everyone knows the intel can't be trusted and needs oversight. Even Fox's sycophant Chris Wallace was incredulous.
Now, read Barb on the break-up between Vlad and George.

Your columns are silly.

Silly! That's a first. Usually they're called moronic or deranged or despressing. But I'll ponder silly. I totally agree that Quail Day and the Kiss to Forget and many other blog pieces are silly, and I'll try to do better. And I do appreciate your distinction between me and the "column". (I don't have a column, it's just an op-ed.) Most people who write anonymously to me insult me, not the writing, so this was very kind of you. Thanks for taking the time to write.
