WARNING: The videos linked in the following posts about the UCLA debacle are not for the faint of heart and definitely not for children: From Americablog, Firedoglake and Digby. The appalling story of UCLA police repeatedly using a taser on a student of Middle Eastern descent in the school library. Student didn't comply with request for ID, and the rest of the story is horrifying. Read on

From Media Matters, CNN's Glenn Beck does a racist number on Congressman-elect, Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Congress: " . . . (W)hat I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.' " LeftyMN suggests that Ellison could have replied: "What I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not screwing donkeys."

From Yahoo News: A charming book for young children about penguins, entitled "And Tango Makes Three," is raising homophobic hackles in Illinois and elsewhere.

From The New York Times The latest article on how O.J. Simpson stands to make a fortune with his disgusting book and simultaneous television special, outlining details of his wife's murder that seem to indicate he has the inside story. Who knew?

From The Washington Post The Pentagon has "upgraded" homosexuality from a mental disorder and placed it on a "list of conditions or 'circumstances' that range from bed-wetting to fear of flying." Must. Find. LeftyMN's. Zoloft.

From Newsweek Bush appoints "anti-birth control, anti-sex education advocate Dr. Eric Keroack to oversee the nation's family planning program." Keroack starts his new job Monday.

Had enough? Yeah, me, too. Time to hang another load on the line.

UPDATE: This tidbit just in from Americablog about Bush self-destructing. Oh schadenfreude, oh schadenfreude . . .
