Got to musing today about what it would mean to me, personally, to have a Democratic president in the Oval Office. Not as a guest. No. As a permanent fixture, beginning in late January 2009, having been elected in a scrupulously honest November 2008 election. Oh, stop your snickering.
Here are my ten completely selfish reasons for wanting to oust Republicans from the White House and beyond:
10. I want to go 48 hours without an email from Harry Reid.
9. I want my doc to stop calling for the crash cart when she checks my blood pressure.
8. I want the polar ice cap to stay right where it is, unthawed.
7. I want to know that no one is illegally eyeballing our old "Penny Brown is missing" emails.
6. I want to know what George Bush was hiding under his jacket during the debates.
5. I want Ann Coulter impounded and declawed.
4. I want to be able to afford an easy-to-get electric car.
3. I want incoming ships to undergo at least as much scrutiny as Mexican immigrants.
2. I want to see the Bush/Cheney/Rove bunch sentenced to community service. In Baghdad.
1. I want to be proud of our president.
So, how 'bout you?

1. I want to stop being embarassed to be an American.
2. I want a President who knows more than I do and can "speak down" to me.
3. I want a President who acknowledges sceince....ummm at least 19th century or even new science.
4. I want a surplus "deficit" like we had with Clinton.
5. I want my vote to actually be counted.
6. I DON'T want the candidate's campaign chairman to also be in charge of counting votes.
7. I want to observe the Geneva Convention.
8. I want a President and Cabinet who will participate in inquiries.
9. I want New Orleans back; I want levees instead of fences.
10. I want our troops and Iraqis to stop dying. I WANT BIN LADEN!
11. I would like to be able to visit the white house without worring if the VP will shoot me in the face.
12. I want a President who eats with his mouth closed.

I'm not a dedicated Democrat or Republican. My primary concern is finding someone that has integrity, compassion and understanding and that has leadership skills.
Obviously there is a problem on all the above with Bush and Cheney and Rove and...
I will mention only a few expectations on my wish list:
1) I want leaders who understand the meaning of the word
"sustainable".
2) I want leaders that believe "no person should be left behind".
3) I want leaders who I can laugh with not at.
I don't recall who said it but a quote I remember is:
"The problem with political jokes is they get elected."
Wow, we hit the jackpot these past two elections!
