"To me, the definition of community is we all do better when we all do better. Whatever happened to community?"

In these last days before the November 02 election, I think it is important for us to take a breather from the sound and fury. I think it is important for us to see what real leadership and integrity looks like. I think it is important for us to listen to Paul Wellstone's words about what we can and must do to help our country step back from the abyss.

Do I still miss this man? I do.

What a perfect way to put it.

And yeah, I miss Wellstone, too.

October 25 will be the 8th anniversary of Paul and Sheila's death and yes, missing them as much now as then.
What's eery in this video is how the sort of grass roots activism he's talking about is what the Tea Baggers like to think they are talking about. Just the "little people" taking back their government. From whom, exactly? Oh, you know, the big corporate interests who got bailed out and bought out by Obama's creeping socialism. Never mind that it's the same big corporate interests who are funding their activism.
Politics makes strange bedfellows, the saying goes. Yes it does, the Wall St. lions are lying down with the Main St. lambs --or lying down TO them --cozying up before roasting them over a golden spit.
